i've got a craving for hong kong style beef chow mein

i spent the majority of the day in bed battling impacted bowels up to the wazoo and watching various shows on tv, none of which held my interest for too long.

i ate crepes for dinner and went shopping and you'd think that would take my mind off more serious matters, but alas, it did not.

i called a chinese restaurant that i used to frequent during college in the hopes that i would still be open at 12am. since i am still sitting in front of the computer at 1250 am, you can safely assume that they were not.

i did not go to the flea market. i did not get my haircut. i did not clean. but i did go see a movie. one out of four.

friday always comes too late

freshly showered and ready for the rest of the day. last night, in honor of hurricane isabel (which, by the way, is such a pretty name) i decided to tackle the disaster area called my closet. inspired by the show 'clean sweep' i decided to finally get rid of clothes that i havent worn for more than a year. not that i really got far with that. two huge garbage bags later, i now have just enough room to fit every article of clothing that i have. it just means that i can never buy another article of clothing ever again.

now i just have to tackle the bag situation. scary.

i've decided that i'm going to stop buying clothes for a while because i really don't think i need anymore right now. but then i got to thinking what i do need, and i need shoes and a bag. dont ask why, its just my mind working in the mysterious way that it does.

i spent the whole week preparing for a hurricane that never came. i bought a phone charger for my car (finally) and extra batteries for the flashlights and duct tape and masking tape, etc., etc. it just really sucks to be unprepared.

i'm going to have a productive weekend. i'm going to watch a movie and go to the flea market and get my hair cut and clean. later gator.

slow days

yesterday afternoon i fell asleep at my desk while working. for 30 minutes i slumbered under the whir of typing keys and the hum of the copy machine. the only reason i woke up was because someone called my name. they were standing 2 feet away but it sounded like they were 200 feet away. that whisper in my head signaled something in my brain to awaken the rest of my body.

i turned around and someone from another department was handing back a document i had a question on. she gave her response as i tried speedily to regain composure. i nodded and thanked her and then turned around. i looked down at my sweater and realized there was a 6 inch stretch of drool resting from my chest downward.

today i brought reinforcements. i bought coffee after lunch and was wired for the rest of the day.

last night i had a wonderful dinner with wonderful company. a night with good conversation, reisling, cigs, mini-godzilla rolls and a reason to smile.

its been a while

i've been too lazy to sit down and string thoughts together in a coherant manner. i'm looking at my last blog and i realize that i never got to write about my weekend in california.

four days of jam packed fun. i got to see ethan -- he's getting so big. he calls me attie. i was so afraid that he wouldnt like me, but he always wanted to hold my hand and he played with me all weekend. that kid melts my heart.

cant say much happened from then til now. went to a beautiful wedding and payed the hotel shuttle guy $20 bucks to drive us to white castles afterwards because no one was really sober enough to drive.

went to a bbq/housewarming for labor day weekend. blah, blah, blah.

bles is finally back. i'm thinking she's not really happy about being here, but i'm glad she's here. preliminary apartment hunting has begun.

i'm feeling a bit lost these days. not really knowing my place and such. don't really have an agenda. work is good. same old thing.

ry's home for a while. he gave up school to work at goldman and we hung out all last week. i'm glad that he's around.

i want to go back to california. i hate missing what's going on -- i hate knowing the next time i go out there, he'll have forgotten me all over again.

*sigh*

nothing much going on this month. hubbell & bubble is having their annual company picnic tomorrow, complete with cartoonists, magicians and lots and lots of food. the good thing is we get to leave early. the bad thing is i have to spend my free time getting my car inspected.

happy birthday ed. its two years to the day that james and i first met and he made fun of me while i scarfed down two whole lobsters.
