Monday, December 22, 2003 its all coming together slowly but surely, things are coming around in the apartment. this weekend was the first weekend that we actually stayed over. a little jarring, but something i'll eventually get used to. saturday bles and i decided that we desperately needed kitchen things....like food, pots, pans, forks, spoons. things of that sort. so we hustled over to target (land of the last minute christmas shoppers) and fought like mad to get through rude ass customers while trying to purchase home items. $200 dollars poorer later, we emerged unscathed and fully immersed in adulthood. grocery shopping was a whole other story. my first unofficial dinner at the apartment was white manna. my first official dinner at the apartment was popeye's chicken. and my first official cooked dinner (which i cooked myself) was 2 eggs, sunny-side up with fried rice. christmas is this week and the whole month i have not been in the christmas spirit. it doesnt really feel like christmas. i guess its because my family is spread over the entire globe and i am left in new jersey...alone. not that i really mind too much. i'm glad that mom and dad are on vacation -- they deserve to get away and hang out in the warm tropics. i've got the apartment to keep me occupied for the next month or so. and i'm on vacation for the next two weeks so i can just relax.... 1:26 PM

Monday, December 15, 2003 update just wanted to write a quick note hello and let you know the status of my move. saturday we moved in the fridge and a bunch of living room furniture...futon, coffee table, bookshelves, tv, etc, etc. i basically cleaned my bedroom and bathroom (i must say, the people that used to live there were very hairy). yesterday i sat in the apartment alone and watched wedding planner while waiting for my perfect full pillowtop bed to come. because of the weather, they had to reschedule for tuesday. hopefully i'll get home from work in time. slowly i'm packing away 25 years of my life into little tupperware bins and boxes and uprooting again. i figure i wasnt going to feel so bad because i was so used to this during college. but it feels a little like the end of an era. *sniff* who knows? so many things to do and so many things to look forward too. its about time. 7:35 PM

Thursday, December 04, 2003 a space of my own sorry posting is so few and far between. bles, ry and i found an apartment together. our lease starts on the 15th but i havent started moving anything. i'm trying to do this as slow and steady as possible. trying to make moving feel as less stressful as possible. i feel as if i'm dorming again, but i know this is a whole different ballpark. jeez, mattresses are expensive. *sigh* i'll let you know about the housewarming. b.y.o.f.
