Sunday, December 12, 2004one down, one to go
i have just finished my last and final project for the semester. now all i have left to do is study for my exam and them i'm off to sunny california for a mini-break from everything that has been stressing me out for the last three weeks.
its very strange, because i've had a public speaking problem all my adult life, but with this class, i was able to overcome that with great ease. i dont know what has changed - may be its temporary, and with my next class i'll caterpillarize again. i dont know, but i'm very proud of what i've accomplished during the semester.
i'm also planning a trip to the homeland, probably during the last week of feb. or the first week of march. i dont know what's made me want to visit P.I., considering the last time i was there i was miserable and hot and i refused to stay at my parents' house (choosing the comforts of the holiday inn, manila over their company). i know, i'm a horrible person. but this time around, i was offered a trip to palawan (some insanely beautiful island resort). what i really want to do while i'm out there is document my trip through pictures. i saw some reallly amazing pictures from my dad on his last trip there, and i think that is what inspired it all.
come monday, all i have to look forward to is christmas shopping and relaxing. yeay! i've already decided on the next book i plan to read - don quixote. its a wonder how many literary books that i lack in my personal library, considering i am trying to gain a m.a. in english. so, one of my new years resolutions is to get all the required reading stuff crossed off my to-do list. i've got a lot of work ahead of me.
i've also taken up knitting in the last month or so. don't ask me where my progress is to date, because its really rather sad and kind of depressing to think about. lets just say, my goal of handing out handmade scarves for christmas will just have to wait til next year.
happy christmas to all and a merry new year!
