i'm sitting in front of the computer waiting for my dad to get here so that i can take him to the airport. i woke up a 530 am to get to work by 7 so i could be out of there by 230 (that's with only a half hour lunch break for today and tomorrow). his flight is at four and i was told to be here by three. its four now.
my dad's a funny guy. last night we had dinner at a restaurant. we walk in and everyone at the bar is wearing green. there are banners and shamrocks decoratively hung everywhere. in the main dining room, everyone there is also wearing green and also have green top hats and green & silver tiaras on (courtesy of the restaurant). i'm even wearing green. we sit down and the waiter gives us the regular menu and a irish specialty menu. about 10 minutes pass by and we order from the waiter. then he looks at me and says, "is tomorrow st. patrick's day?"
sometimes i think that my dad works way too hard.
funny aside. my co-worker, who has his masters degree in english, told me that throughout the majority of his academic career, he believed that "the hunchback of notre dame" took place in indiana (home of the fighting irish).
i spent a little too much money this past week. i finally bought a real desk & filing cabinet. james happened to surprise me by buying the cute little bench that i saw at target. my room can hardly fit my bed, so i spent a whole night rearranging everything. i ended up sacrificing the filing cabinet and sticking it in the closet because the room looked too cluttered with it in there.
this past weekend i started my spring cleaning. finally changed my sheets-- its now a cute seafoam green palette.
target is furnishing my apartment room by room. i bought a rug for the living room and i'm so tempted to pick up the soho lounge chair but i've blown my budget for this month.
congrats to me for working one whole year at hubbell&bubble.
