Tuesday, May 30, 2006 thank you thank you for being born 29 years ago...thanks for meeting me four years ago and making fun of the way i ate lobsters. thanks for stealing my bag and making a fool of yourself in the parking lot...a big dude walking around with tiny purse on his shoulder. thank you for making me laugh that night and every night since then. thank you for the countless breakfasts and lunches and dinners. thank you for always shaking my dunkin' donuts coffees to evenly distribute the sugar and stirring my starbucks coffees to evenly distribute the syrup. thanks for driving when i don't feel like it (which is most of the time). thank you for teaching me to drive stick in your car and being patient with me everytime i stalled (which was alot!). thank you for the countless times you had to wake up at the crack-ass of dawn to drive me to work or the airport. thanks for letting me steal your money when i "forgot" to go to the atm. thank you for buying me magazines when you know full well i'm not allowed to buy them for myself. thank you for buying me arizona sweet tea iced-teas because you know they are my favorite. thank you for being my official backscratcher. thank you for making up a language that only you and i understand. thank you for inviting me into your world, for taking care of me so well and loving me the way that you do. happy birthday, sweetheart. 12:10 AM

Friday, May 19, 2006 ode to a geek in the pink as i was driving to work the other morning, i noticed something strange on the highway. pink powder sprinkled randomly across rt. 78. ok, i know, i shouldn't be taking pictures while driving, but i had to document this strange phenomenon. many things came to mind during my commute. the tooth fairy dropped her fairy dust while traveling on 78. probably not. a truck carrying loads of cotton candy powder had a leak and left a nice pink trail. the sanitation department dyed salt rocks pink and de-iced the ice-less roads of 78? maybe kool-aid is using the highway as directional advertising for its newest flavor, pink watermelon burst? this weekend is the calm before the storm. tomorrow i have errands up the wazoo and sunday i'm watching the earliest matinee i can for davinci code. i dont feel like having my personal space invaded, so i'll opt for an earlier show. hopefully my genius idea isnt the same genius idea everyone else has. next weekend is the annual birthday party in oldbridge. *sigh* i'm getting to old for this. its also memorial day weekend. and the weekend after that is the minibreak to green island. and then mater and pater return from the philippines and it is officially summer. have a great weekend, y'all. 6:24 PM

Tuesday, May 02, 2006 office pranks we have started a tradition at work...when anyone goes on vacation, we mess with their cube. its only fair - they are off having a grand old time, and we are left under flourescent lights and work that never seems to end. our co-worker bill went on vacation for a couple of days, so we decided to have a little fun. we missed bill so much that we made a fake bill (the hand was from a previous prank played on me). fake bill's head was a picture of his face taped to a balloon with my ski cap, my sweater and sarah's boyfriend's pants. sarah's boyfriend's pillow fills out bill's upper body while pam's shoes complete the look. we photoshopped the hell out of his pictures and made some hilarious O.C. collages (he's a big fan). we added a unicorn calendar and unicorn bumper stickers (i *heart* unicorns; i brake for unicorns) and topped it off by sealing off his cube entrance with books. i'd like to see how much more creative we can get for the next one. any suggestions, please email me. 7:58 PM
